W|N Serves As SLC Host for Annual AIPLA Women In IP Dinner

W|N hosted the second annual Women In IP Dinner sponsored by the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA), for women IP practitioners in and around Salt Lake City. Similar dinners were hosted in 25 other major cities around the country. Women attending the Salt Lake dinner heard from keynote speaker Tami Goetz, Ph.D., who serves as the Governor’s State Science Advisor. Dr. Goetz spoke to those in attendance about the importance of encouraging women to develop an interest in science and technology at all levels of education, especially during the early years. Attendees also heard from Mona Burton, former managing partner of the Salt Lake offices of Holland & Hart, who discussed retention issues for women pursuing legal careers.
